School of Business Mentoring Program

Our mentoring program is designed to bring St. Bonaventure School of Business students and alumni together in order to help students succeed in school and as they start their careers.

The program matches students (mentees) with alumni (mentors) based on similarities in background, academics, development interests and professional goals.

St. Bonaventure School of Business Alumni (Mentors)

Mentors serve as a resource in career and professional development for students. By sharing their professional insights and personal career journeys with students, they help set the stage for a student's deeper knowledge and exploration.

Successful mentors are shaped by the university’s values of compassion, wisdom, and integrity. They are good communicators, trustworthy and have the interests of others at heart. A successful mentor encourages their mentee and helps the mentee stay committed to academic excellence and engagement.

As a mentor, you will:

  • be a resource for career and professional guidance
  • encourage student growth and achievement
  • help the mentee develop and work toward meaningful goals
  • provide honest, constructive feedback and encouragement
  •

Successful mentees are committed to academic excellence and engagement, good communicators, and willing to take charge of their education by asking questions and actively participating in conversations. They are open to feedback and coaching, and are willing to get out of their comfort zones to try new things.

As a mentee, you will:

  • gain practical advice, encouragement, and support
  • learn from the experiences of others
  • gain expertise beyond campus interaction, supporting practical business knowledge and acumen
