St. Bonaventure University

Programs in Visual & Performing Arts

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at St. Bonaventure offers majors in Music, Theater, and Visual Arts, as well as a minor in Art History. The department is housed in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, has offices as well as art and rehearsal studios in nearby Butler Hall, and utilizes the intimate Garret Theater in historic Devereux Hall.

The visual and performing arts are necessary elements in a liberal arts education. Whether we are creators or appreciators, the arts engage us in a dialogue of perception, imagination and reflection involving the entire range of human experience. The arts give meaning to our lives, amplify our emotions and ideas, offer us a cross-cultural community, and allow us to bring deeper awareness and unique perceptions to any career.
