    Dec 13, 2024 | Dr. Scott Simpson, professor of Chemistry and department chair, along with researchers from the University at Buffalo and Stony Brook University, published their article titled "Synthesis and Evaluation of Cationic Porphyrin-Based Organic Nanocages for the Removal of 38 PFAS from Water: Experimental, Theoretical, and Eco-toxicological Insights" in ACS ES&T Engineering.

    Nov 25, 2024 | Ed. Simone, former longtime professor and director of the theater program at St. Bonaventure University, will perform his masterful one-man show “A Christmas Carol, A Retelling by Ed. Simone” at ’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

    Nov 23, 2024 | Dr. Kathryn Caliva Smart, assistant professor of History, spent a portion of last summer at the Center for Hellenic Studies in Washington, D.C., working on her current book project: "Speaking about Gods: Mythic Knowledge and Narrative Authority in Greek Lyric Poetry." The CHS is a research institute under the auspices of Harvard University that supports research on all aspects of ancient Greece. Caliva Smart's term as a Hellenic studies fellow at the center continues through May 2025.

    Nov 23, 2024 | Dr. Barry L. Gan, professor emeritus of Philosophy, presented via Zoom a paper at the annual meeting of Concerned Philosophers for Peace in Birmingham, Alabama, on Oct. 18.

    Nov 20, 2024 | The musical-comedy sister duo Vickie & Nickie bring their seasonal show “Vickie & Nickie’s Holiday Sleigh Ride” to St. Bonaventure University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts for a performance at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.

    Nov 20, 2024 | Rico Roman, a three-time Paralympic gold medalist in sled hockey and a U.S. Army veteran who received a Purple Heart after being wounded in Iraq, will share his inspiring story at St. Bonaventure University on Thursday, Nov. 21.

    Nov 08, 2024 | Five St. Bonaventure University alumni will be named to the Seneca Battalion ROTC Hall of Fame at the university’s traditional Veterans Day service at 12:30 p.m. Monday by the war memorials outside Reilly Center. The public is invited.

    Nov 08, 2024 | Dr. Caitlin Smith, assistant professor of English, has co-edited with Jan Stievermann and Eddie Glaude Jr. two final manuscripts accepted for publication in spring 2025 by Oxford University Press. Smith also published a chapter in “The Routledge Companion to Herman Melville,” and presented a paper at a conference at Catholic University.

    Nov 08, 2024 | Dr. Anne Foerst, professor of Computer Science, gave a lecture titled "Large Language Models: Theological Implications" at Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.

    Nov 08, 2024 | Dr. Scott Simpson, professor of Chemistry, Kate Merkel, 2022 Chemistry graduate, and Dr. Alyssa Santos, former postdoctoral researcher in the Simpson Research group, have had their publication "Trigonal Bipyramidal or Square Planar? Density Functional Theory calculations of iron bis(dithiolene) N-heterocyclic carbene complexes" accepted for publication in the Royal Chemical Society's journal Dalton Transactions.

    Nov 08, 2024 | Dr. Scott Simpson, professor of Chemistry and Honors Program chair, presented his work titled "Understanding the Bonding of N-heterocyclic Carbenes on Pd/Cu(111) Single Atom Alloys" at the 4th European Symposium on Chemical Bonding (CBOND2024), held at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
